Treasure Isle hikes up fishing bait prices by tenfold

Treasure Isle new Basic Bait and Good Bait prices
Everyone's gone fishin' in Zynga's newest fishing feature in Treasure Isle. We're into our 4th day now, and the fun hasn't stopped. It's simple to understand and easy to play. There's plenty of new content to discover and lots of rewards to be earned. But our honeymoon with the new feature seems to be moving a bit too fast, which is the only way to explain why Zynga has decided to increase the prices on fishing bait at the store.
Treasure Isle Sunken Treasures Magic Bait
Basic Bait debuted on Monday, selling at 625 Coins for a 25 batch. Also selling as a 25 batch was the Good Bait, priced at 2,500 Coins. Now, the price has been multiplied by ten, so you need 6,250 Coins for 25 Basic Bait, and 25,000 Coins for 25 Good Bait! We know they aren't trying to gouge us for real dough here, because at least the prices for the premium baits, Special Bait (9 Island Cash for 5) and Magic Bait (25 Island Cash for 5), haven't changed. These baits also won't help you nab the same kinds of fish that the regular baits do, so they're not in competition with each other. The premiums just let you have access to rare fish with higher awards.

On the upside, the game does contain a few other ways to earn free bait, so this sudden price hike shouldn't hurt players much. For starters, every Level 1 Fish Mastery gets you one free Basic Bait! Ok, that isn't too awesome, but look, the Sunken Treasure awards actually offers free Magic Bait as a prize! And as a bonus, after you grab it, you can share one with your friends. Now doesn't that just beat all?
